This week, we’re looking my top three little things I’m grateful for. To those in the United States, I hope you’re having a wonderful Thanksgiving. To everyone else, I hope you’re having an excellent Thursday. I was up in the air about posting on a holiday because who wants to make work for themselves? I decided, however, that this was the perfect time to reflect with gratitude on the small things that I enjoy right now. And by small, I mean that these are things I often overlook because they are just a daily part of my life. But small does not mean lesser. Each item on this list makes my life just a little bit better. Reusable Water Bottle My favorite beverage is water. Yup. Just plain old water. I have a reusable water bottle at home and in the office. I’m one of those people who gets cranky if they’re dehydrated. Having a reusable water bottle on hand means I’m never too far from a drink. What I love best about my water bottle is that it has a one-handed flip lid. I can be a bit of a klutz and the closed lid has saved my work area numerous times. Being able to open and close the lid with just one hand means I’m less likely to lose a screw top. I also like the slimmer profile which means this bottle is easy to pack. It fits perfectly in many bags’ outside pockets. Plus, I get to feel a bit better about not buying single use plastic water bottles. I can only imagine how many I would go through in a day. Wi-Fi Connecting Automatically Setting up a connection to Wi-Fi can take some time, but I love that you can set devices to remember certain networks. This week, I was “working from home” from my in-laws place in South Carolina. Unlike the last time I did this, we didn’t need to track down the password to connect my computer to their Wi-Fi network. It remembered it automatically and I was up and running in seconds. I’ve told my phone and laptop to remember networks I’m on all the time. This step has saved, probably, hours of my life. I always forget passwords or I type them in wrong. Sometimes you have to reset routers to get things to work. I hate all the rigmarole of troubleshooting tech. Plus, remembering Wi-Fi means I’m not on the cell network which keeps us from going over our data limit every month.
