3 Good Things with Alex Sujong Laughlin and Kelsey McKinney of the Normal Gossip Podcast

Alex and Kelsey are the funny and smart co-creators of the hilarious and mega-popular podcast Normal Gossip. Having known both of them for years now, the type of genius output that is Normal Gossip feels like an inevitable conclusion of two brilliant (and yanno, sometimes twisted, in a good way :)) minds melding. In case you’re new to the Gossipverse (welcome!), Normal Gossip is a podcast that “delivers juicy, strange, funny, and utterly banal gossip about people you'll never know and never meet.” In summary: it’s guaranteed to be the most entertaining and low-stakes hour-long listen of your week. It's good for the soul.

Enjoy Alex and Kelsey's recs below and don’t miss our special giveaway for their D.C. live show tickets at the end of today’s newsletter. —Alisha

Filling your hair with secrets (and texture):

Everyone knows that the bigger your hair is, the more secrets you have. And everyone wants to have secrets. But did you ever think that you could simply make your hair bigger and thus have more space to store your secrets? You can! I recommend this R&Co texturizing spray, because it’s like hairspray but less sticky, and it makes your hair so shiny that no one will be able to see all the secrets you now have room to hide. Also, it smells so fancy that sometimes people ask if it is a perfume! —Kelsey

Plausible deniability:

Over the ear headphones — these are great because they’re corded and Bluetooth, and you can turn on noise-canceling for them. I plug them in when it’s time to edit the podcast, but I prefer to use them completely off and disconnected so I can eavesdrop on the people around me when I’m in public places. —Alex

Something to sip while you decide how to respond:

It feels fancier than a cup of tea, but you can have as much as you want and still stay lucid. You can add a little ginger beer to make it taste like a fancy cocktail, or add an herb. Then you can sip on your little Ghia that looks like a cocktail, while everyone around you gets smashed and take notes in your phone! They won’t notice! Then you can send the note to us at 2-6-7-9-GOSSIP! Everyone wins! —A&K

Kelsey McKinney and Alex Sujong Lauglin are the co-creators of the podcast Normal Gossip. They created this podcast specifically to get an invite to do the Girls Night In Newsletter. Dreams do come true.
