Growing up in the suburbs, the artist rebelled against his environment but absorbed specific sound references, such as the “reverb of drained pools.”¹ Pinkcourtesyphone’s music is on the ambient end of ambient, big soundscapes made from just a few notes or samples, with a nostalgic crackling overlay. We’re playing two LPs: leaving everything to be desired from 2020 and Indelicate Slices from 2017.
