Money Tip of the Week

Do you know the APY (annual percentage yield, aka interest rate) on your savings account(s)?

Apparently the national average is something like 0.2% (boo), but with federal interest rates being what they are, plenty of banks and financial institutions are offering much higher rates to attract customers (and encourage them to save instead of spend). Like, we’re talking 15x higher, in some cases. If your current rate is on the low end, you might want to shop around, maybe earn a few extra bucks on your short-term savings.
