Alright, NOW the girlboss is officially dead – she was free-bleeding in her Thinx underwear, and unfortunately, they were carcinogenic. RIP, Queen. You died as you lived: cruising through your hot and sexy New York City lifestyle, deeply moisturized and totally unbothered, in a soiled modal cotton blood diaper that allowed for greater personal autonomy for vagina-havers under capitalism. Or something?

Thinx, the revolutionary company that shills underwear that wicks and absorbs “five tampons’ worth” of period blood, has been hit with at least three lawsuits in the last year regarding the company’s claims that their product was “organic, sustainable, and non-toxic,” according to Fashionista. Thinx was like the pussy hat of personal hygiene products in our early Trump-era scrambled-egg brains: their advertising was cute, and it was exciting to think that some fabric other than the medical-grade trauma bandage we’d been shoving up our birthing canals could absorb that much blood (and urine!). Not to mention the eco-friendliness of it all.

Brad Pitt may not be the “Mayor of Hollywood,” but he’s certainly the mayor of one young lady’s heart — the one belonging to his fake girlfriend, Ines de Ramon. According to Us Weekly, Pitt, 59, and de Ramon, 29 or 33, are more smitten than ever after spending New Year’s together in Cabo. “Brad and Ines are having a really wonderful time with each other,” a source told the tabloid. “Their relationship feels comfortable and playful.”

The insider added that de Ramon is a “big hit with Brad’s friends,” whoever they are, and that the duo are “excited about what’s to come next for them.”

Laurent Mauvignier’s novel, now translated into English, is hard to pin down and impossible to put down

Children one day learn their parents are real people, flawed and desiring, with guarded whims and privacies and pasts entirely their own; husbands, it is hoped, already know this about their wives. Patrice Bergogne, the shambling, depressive dairy farmer in Laurent Mauvignier’s novel The Birthday Party, would rather forget it. His wife mystifies and intimidates him — too intelligent, too spirited, too much for their narrow life on his farm in rural France. She has a tattoo she never speaks about, from long before they met: a braid of barbed wire running down her back, encircling a blood-soaked rose. The sight of it frightens him. It’s clumsily done, unfeminine, violent, wrong. He wonders if in a previous life she rode motorcycles. The tattoo is a reminder: “Before she was a promise of love, Marion was a stranger, with the density of a life he knew nothing about.”
