Cute but deadly.

That’s how the artist behind Corpy & Whale describes the main character. This fantastical world of flying whales, space exploring frogs and robots is still just getting started. While it looks polished, planned and fully developed, the road to creation has been a serendipitous progression.

“At first I didn't have a name for my main character. People started calling me "corp" or "corpy" because of my Twitter handle. I thought it was a catchy name so I used it for my little girl. She’s just a happy adventurous girl whose full of curiosity. But when I made lofi versions of her I start enjoyed the feeling being alone and chill mood. So the scenes became set to this mood. Cute but deadly means she loves doing adventurous things and made her a badass girl; so maybe it's her deadly side.

Each character represents different aspects of our lives. Corpy represents our inner child, curious, adventurous and full of wonder. Whale is our imagination and magical side, reminding us the world is full of wonder. The Cat is our most loyal and dearest friends while Frognin (a combination of Frog and Ronin) represents the strangers that come in and out of our lives.

And these are just the main characters.

We’ve seen glimpses of adventures with so many other characters: a polar bear, giant chicken and faceless robot reminiscent of an animated version of the robots from Lost in Space or The Day the Earth Stood Still.

For now, the stories are kept simple. Stories of friends watching movies, getting coffee, watching the sunset. But with a world rich of characters it’s only a matter of time before the characters begin to explore that world.

“I really wanna make this big. wanna make their comic and stories and be like Sanrio IP, still a long way to go.”

Something that we know, but forget in economic downturns is the long-term vision of NFTs. Imagine owning Hello Kitty concept drawings. That’s what owning Corpy & Whale NFTs could be today.

Anyone that has been watching the world of Corpy & Whale develop over the past two years knows that the possibilities with a talented artist are endless.
