How's your blogging week been?

It's a lovely late-Summer day here at ProBlogger HQ (Melbourne, Australia) with the temperature pushing over 30℃, around 90℉.

As I stepped outside this morning there was the faint smell of smoke in the air. There is a bushfire (wildfire) burning in a rural area about 90- minutes to the North of the city. No homes have been lost and no one has been hurt, but during hot conditions fire is always a concern.

Bushfire/wildfire can be very destructive, but fires can also rejuvenate the landscape: removing dead wood, controlling weeds, thinning undergrowth and nourishing the soil. It's always astonishing to me to see the new green shoots sprouting amidst charred, burnt forest.

For thousands of years, the Aboriginal people of Australia have been following their cultural practices including the use of fire to care for their Country. Cultural Burning practices were developed by Aboriginal people to enhance the health of the land, particular plants and animals. 

Sometimes, we need to set fire to our blogs too, to clear out the undergrowth that has built up over the years, get rid of the dead wood and provide the conditions for regrowth. Below I've included an article from the archives on re-igniting your blogging fire to give you some tips on rejuvenation.
