I Got Hooked

Two weeks ago I coded my first OpenAI API in Google Sheets.

Just a little "ask a question, get a response" function inside Apps Script.

That's all.

Nothing much.

It only took 30 minutes. to get working. I was surprised. sure sure sure I've been coding Apps Script for 10 years, but still it surprised and delighted me. The AI was fast. I was fast. "What else can I do?" I thought.

I got the same funny feeling inside my stomach that students have gotten when they wrote their first Apps Script.

This AI stuff is cool!

But.. it won't last, or so I thought.

The novelty will wear off.

Then woke up the next day, and I felt hooked.

HOOKED!

I just had to try writing one more implementation, it worked.

Then I tried another thing, it worked.

Since then:

→ I made a Tweet writer for myself.

→ Shared the API Apps Script with Better Sheets Members

→ Made a ChatGPT Clone in a Google Sheet

→ Made an AI Tweet Hook writer called Hot Hooks for members.

Now What?

I want to share this enthusiasm with you. A few of you in "Spreadsheet Automation 101" were there. But I want more of you to come join us. I'm happy to focus on AI, in sheets.
