VERY Odd Things You Can Sell to Make Money
Jen “Odd” Glantz here! I wanted to share a fun little newsletter today about the cool, random, and gross things you can sell for money. Beware: some of these things might be shocking but if you’re up for it, could bring in some good cash. PS. I have (1) open spot for 1:1 coaching this month. These go fast so if you ever wanted to work together on a life-career-side hustle strategy, I’ve got your back. Today’s newsletter is sponsored by: SunsamaIf you’re someone who feels like you’re constantly working on something, whether work tasks or life tasks, and you want to give yourself a break, you need a system to help you organize your day, from your to-do’s to what exactly you should start first. For the past few months, I’ve started using Sunsama, a virtual planning assistant that has helped me establish a routine and pulls in my emails, calendar events, and tasks into one single app, so I know exactly how to focus on my day ahead. Super happy with the platform. Give it a try and plan your day in Sunsama. VERY Odd Things You Can Sell to Make MoneySell JellyfishI avoid these things like CRAZY when I’m walking along the beach, but perhaps I shouldn’t run away next time I run into a jellyfish. That’s because on JellyFishArt.com, people sell jellyfish for $330. You get one jellyfish, a small tank, and 3-months worth of food. You can also sell pet oysters…just an FYI. Sell SpermA quick Google search led to me a website that advertises $1,500 for selling your sperm to a sperm bank. This isn’t something everyone would be comfortable doing but It’s something people do. Here’s the link I found. Sell Your FriendshipWell, I’ve been doing this for years as a HIRED BRIDESMAID but you can also set up a profile on RentAFriend.com and make $50/hour to be a friend to someone, and even perhaps score a free movie ticket, coffee, etc. Sell Pet RocksThe pet rock is truly the gift that keeps on giving. While IDK if you can copy this idea 100%, you can let it inspire you to create something else random to sell. People buy random, funny, stuff alll the time. Sell Weird Toilet PaperIf you want to get into the e-comm business, on idea is to sell weird printed toilet paper with either sayings on it or cartoons of famous people (if that’s allowed - research this, please). Anyway, these make great gifts or just a great occasional buy for your own house to bring in some joy and humor. Sell Your HairYes, you really can sell your hair. HairWork.com said one woman made $4k selling hair on her site and I read somewhere else that a woman made $80 selling hair on eBay. Take Selfies to Sell ClothesOn Stylinity, you can download an app, take a selfie of yourself wearing a certain outfit and tag the items (linking them to stores). When someone buys off from your links, it seems like you can earn 20% or more. Sell Your FutureAn idea I wish I thought of: Selling your future to people who can vote on what you do next in life. Check out this article on Wired. The guy made $4k! Sell Deer PeeGross, but an idea: sell deer pee. I heard on person sells the urine for $15.50 a bottle. Hunters buy this to attract deer…hunting isn’t something I promote (as a lifelong veggie) but I want to give you all the options. Not sure you have room for a herd of deer? You could sell other animals’ urine. For example, Predator Pee sells everything from bear to coyote urine. If your dog is part wolf, you might be ready to go. The Odd List of Random Things🤔 Add to your life:Books & Stuff:A fun little list of all the things that I adore the most in this world - from books to oddities for your desk. Tools: Here are some of my go-to platforms to use. Time management and to-do list management tool I use daily I’m using this to learn a new language and it’s awesome! Random:These things are always good to keep handy When I need a good gift for someone, I send them a wine subscription or a treat from this site. If they are engaged, this is the ultimate gift to send. Other newsletters to enjoy: The Pick Me Up and Scared to Be a Mom Loved this blog post about how to introduce two people over email.
