Samson Phommachack

“What I knew to be true, I discovered wasn’t true.”

As the son of refugee parents from Laos who settled in Aotearoa New Zealand, Samson Phommachack had always moved between worlds. So when his physical and mental health deteriorated from the fast-paced life of running his business, he traveled to a Vientiane monastery and renounced ordinary life for a temporary monkhood. Instead of worrying how many meetings he could fit into an eight hour workday, he discovered how to experience the flow of time in a world without clocks. Watch Samson Phommachack’s enlightening talk for CreativeMornings/Wellington and learn how mindfulness can become a sanctuary.
