GrowthHackingIdea - 2x activation rate (study)

Fomo's activation rate was very poor.
They were losing 87.4% of registered users.

After Fomo applied this trick, their activation rate jumped up by 2 times!

Here's the story...

Fomo is a plugin for eCommerce platforms that increases conversions by adding social proof.
In order to start using it you need to implement Fomo code on your site.

But their target audience was not very technical.
As a result only 12.6% of those signed-up implemented Fomo code.


This is what they did:

1. They didn't change their onboarding, product or landing page.

2. They created a page where a new user could connect to a new Zapier account and finish the implementation without writing any code.

3. At the bottom of their first onboarding email they added this line of text linking to the page:
P.S. to get started without writing ANY code, enable Zapier and follow this guide.

Boom!

Implementation rates increased by 2 times.
