DIY Protection with Feynlab

[Sponsored] Feynlab’s DIY products follow a regimen: Preparation, Protection, and Maintenance. First Prepare the paint by washing it with Pure Wash, followed by Panel Prep to remove any residual oil or contaminants. Then Protect your Tesla using Ceramic Lite - the easiest coating to apply. Then Maintain the coating with Pure Wash, and if you want that extra touch of protection, follow it up with Ceramic Spray Sealant every couple of months.

Discounts and referral program

All model 3s now qualify for the $7,500 federal rebate in the US
Great news! If you qualify for the federal rebate, all Model 3s now qualify as well. Prior to this adjustment, the Model 3 Rear-Wheel Drive didn't qualify, and the other two models were only eligible for a $3,750 rebate. If you're currently in the market for a new Tesla, please consider using our referral code: https://www.tesla.com/referral/ignacio9266

Referral program updates are now reflected in the Tesla app 📷
If you purchase a Model S or Model X using a referral code, you will receive 3 months of Full Self-Driving (FSD) and $1,000 off. If you purchase a Model 3 or Model Y, that will give you $3,500 in credits. If someone uses your code to purchase a Model S or Model X, you will receive 20,000 credits. These credits can be redeemed for merchandise, Tesla accessories, and vehicle upgrades.

Mission

Tesla is happy to license Autopilot/FSD and other Tesla technology
Several years ago, Tesla made all of its patents freely available, and recently, they started opening their Supercharger network to non-Tesla vehicles. Both actions align with Tesla's mission statement to "accelerate the world's transition to sustainable energy". This week, Elon mentioned that they would be more than happy to license Autopilot/Full Self-Driving and other Tesla technologies to other car manufacturers. Personally, every time I rent a car, I find myself missing many of Tesla's in-car technologies. I believe the lane-keeping abilities of many cars are substandard, often deactivating unexpectedly in the middle of a turn. I would love to see more cars equipped with advanced features and software akin to those in my Model Y.

Software Updates

2023.20 Software Update includes Tesla tire safety
We've mentioned this feature before, but now it's finally here. Starting with version 2023.20, Tesla will now alert you when it believes it's time to rotate or replace your tires. When your tires have been rotated or replaced, head to Controls > Service to reset the counter.

Tesla App Version 4.21.5 📷
It's now expected that when Tesla releases a new version of their mobile app, the community will decompile it and investigate what's new. Usually, we can get a sneak peek at upcoming features by examining some of the strings in the app. In this version, we've found strings related to 'Release Videos'. Our speculation is that there may soon be videos included as part of the release notes.

Tips and Tricks

The ultimate guide to Tesla shortcuts and tips you may not know 📷
There are numerous shortcuts and minor features in our Teslas, some of which are not immediately obvious. Here's a fantastic list by the Not a Tesla App. The most useful to me is returning to maps by tapping the navigation box next to the speedometer and turning off the climate control by holding down the temperature button. What are your favorites?

New Models

Cybertruck rear castings spotted at Giga Texas 📷
We are probably just a few months away from the first deliveries of the Cybertruck, Tesla has reiterated they will happen in 2023. In this photo, we can see a bunch of what seems to be Cubertruck rears outside of Giga Texas.

Beast Mode: Model S Track Pack 📹
Tesla has released a video showcasing the "Beast Mode" of the Model S Plaid Track Pack. This pack unlocks a top speed of 200 mph and provides high-speed stability, maximum cornering force, and repeatable stopping power.

While I don't own a Model S Plaid and probably won't ever opt for the track pack, I absolutely enjoy watching these amazing videos.

FSD Beta

Tesla FSD Beta 11.4.2 Full Self-Driving in Venice and Santa Monica 📹
Here's a relatively uneventful video of Full Self-Driving (FSD) navigating around Venice and Santa Monica. The car was able to complete both drives without interventions, although, on a couple of occasions, it opted for the right lane a bit later than I would have preferred. According to the author, this update has been a significant improvement, with the system appearing more confident in turns and hesitating halfway through turns far less than in previous versions.

🤓 What the Acronym
As a Tesla fan, I find myself sometimes having to remember what are all those acronyms, here is a list of the ones you can find in this issue.
  • FSD: Full Self-Driving
