DevOps Bulletin - Digest #110: AWS CDK Best Practices 🚀

#110: AWS CDK Best Practices

This week, I'm diving into diverse DevOps topics, from memory analysis in Google Kubernetes Engine nodes to a complete guide on AWS CDK.

To kick things off, I'll showcase how to use memory analysis on any Google Kubernetes Engine node in production today. Then, I'll guide you through the process of deploying an AWS EKS cluster using Terraform, complete with tips on cost efficiency, practical examples, and monitoring options.

We'll also delve into the world of deployment strategies, showing you how to enable Blue/Green and canary deployments with AWS Step Functions and the usage of versions and aliases. For our Apple enthusiasts, I've crafted an exciting tutorial on deploying a website with Apple Siri, Serverless, and Netlify.

Shifting focus towards building a DynamoDB data migration pipeline, and offering a hands-on lab experience on different multi-container pod design patterns. For those who have faced issues with .terraform.lock.hcl, I'll share techniques to add, use, and update it with ease. Moreover, I'll explain how to migrate etcd between Kubernetes clusters with zero downtime.

As always, my weekly newsletter includes cool open-source projects. This week, I feature an SQLite package registry, a build orchestrator for Terraform monorepos, and a tool to create local malicious Git repositories, among others.

And of course, there's much more in the full newsletter! So stick around, expand your knowledge, and enjoy this week's DevOps Digest!
