I will take a break from tarot this week because I have something significant to discuss.

It is time to delve into the problem with the spiritual community, which is a dangerous problem.

I am not talking about the frauds that take your money to give you fake tarot readings or what have you.

That is bad, but what I am talking about is a lot more insidious than that.

Spiritual Bypassing and Toxic Positivity Are Huge Issues

Unsurprisingly, many in the spiritual community will toss toxic positivity at you, invalidating your suffering by throwing so-called positive platitudes.

For example, if you dislike your job because your boss is not treating you fairly and you are growing tired of it, they would tell you to “Be grateful you have a job because not everyone is so blessed.”

That is an example of toxic positivity. Spiritual bypassing is avoiding complex psychological issues by focusing on spiritual matters.

For example, if you are struggling with your mental health, your response would be, “You are allowing your ego to get in the way. If you didn’t, you would vibrate on a higher level.”

Yeah, nice, huh? Ironically, those who do this crap are highly egotistical and not spiritual. Toxic positivity and spiritual bypassing can be the least of the problems with the spiritual community. Let’s dig deeper to grab the truth!

Victim-blaming and Gaslighting are Associated With This Community

The problem with this community is that it has so many so-called readers, such as mediums, Akashic record readers, tarot readers, psychics, etc., who are not only frauds but are highly narcissistic.

They will tell you that the abuse and other trauma you endured was because your soul chose to go through it and planned for it specifically.

I believe that your soul does choose to have some lessons and will come in with a specific energy. However, there is free will on how those lessons will be learned, and abuse is NEVER planned!

That is due to the misuse of free will by others and you getting caught in the crossfire. That is the worst type of victim-blaming I have encountered.

These so-called spiritual practitioners will gaslight you into believing that you asked for your trauma and abuse and will invalidate it.

They will also tell you that if you refuse to forgive your perpetrators, you will have to keep facing them in subsequent lifetimes and will keep facing the same trauma until you learn your lesson and forgive.

They victim-blame you but will side with the perpetrator and tell you that your lesson is to find compassion for them.

And no, by the way, I don’t believe you need to forgive anyone. That does not mean holding onto resentment and plotting revenge all day. Compassion comes with forgiveness, and how can you be compassionate toward any abuser?

It does not matter what trauma they endured unless they are legitimately incapable of knowing right from wrong. They are responsible for their actions, so no compassion or forgiveness exists.

However, these spiritual narcissists will shame you for that and will mock you in their “love and light” way by telling you that you chose your trauma and you struggling with your mental health because of them is due to you refusing to learn your lessons.

If you are a victim of this type of situation, just know they are the ones with the problem- not you!

Remember that they are the same ones who denied the COVID-19 pandemic, called it a “plandemic” and called you a “sheep” for following the science, including getting the vaccine.

So you see these spiritual narcissistic readers all over social media, heavily polluting TikTok. Beware of them.
