The Intercept - Our final request

With your support, we can meet this goal and get through this difficult period of transition for the news industry. But if people don’t pay for journalism, it will go away. And as a nonprofit news outlet, we rely on support from our readers as a key source of income.

Midnight tonight is the deadline for our end-of-quarter fundraising drive, and with just 11 hours left, we still need to raise $60,000 to meet our goal.

We’re going to be completely honest. This has been an absolutely brutal year for digital media.

Costs are up across the board. Readership is down as more and more Americans avoid the news. Meanwhile, Facebook and other social media platforms are actively suppressing links to hard news websites.

With your support, we can meet this goal and get through this difficult period of transition for the news industry. But if people don’t pay for journalism, it will go away. And as a nonprofit news outlet, we rely on support from our readers as a key source of income.

Please make a donation today to help meet our Q3 fundraising goal by midnight — and all donations will be matched 100 percent.

Thank you,
The Intercept team
