🖊️ Deep dive: 9 New Instagram Features and How to Use Them

Instagram, and really Meta as a whole, have been shipping new features so quickly it’s a whirlwind to keep up with. So, Kirsti dug in and from AI stickers to Broadcast Channels, outlined everything you need to know about Instagram’s latest features. Here’s the Cliff’s Notes:

1. Broadcast Channels: This feature allows creators or brand accounts to send mass updates to followers who have opted in, using text, photos, videos, voice notes, and even polls. It's a great way to share launches, big announcements, or simply foster a deeper connection with your audience.
2. Collab Posts with More Friends: Instagram expanded its collab feature to allow up to four accounts to co-author a post, carousel, or Reel. This means your content will appear in the feeds of your collaborators’ followers as well, making it a handy feature for wider exposure.
3. Insights on Desktop: This is a useful update for social media managers, making Instagram Insights accessible on desktop, offering a summary of recent reach under the user's profile and an option to view more detailed insights.
4. Meta Verified: A new way to get verified on Instagram by subscribing to a monthly fee, offering some premium features like increased support and personalized stickers.
5. Music on Carousels: Extends the ability to add music to carousel posts, enhancing the user experience with a musical element.
6. Notes: Allows sharing short text-based updates with followers. A new addition lets users share a song along with text, appearing in a bar atop your follower's messages inbox, helping keep your account in their thoughts.
7. Reels Templates: Provides pre-made templates for creating Reels, making it easier to produce engaging content quickly.
8. AI Stickers: Utilizes AI to suggest stickers for your photos, simplifying the editing process and adding a fun element to your posts.
9. Photo Stickers: Enables you to turn your photos into stickers, adding a personalized touch to your stories or posts
