Issue 289 - Extra incentives on Model S, X, or Y with year-end purchase

DIY Protection with Feynlab
[Sponsored] Feynlab’s DIY products follow a regimen: Preparation, Protection, and Maintenance. First Prepare the paint by washing it with Pure Wash, followed by Panel Prep to remove any residual oil or contaminants. Then Protect your Tesla using Ceramic Lite - the easiest coating to apply. Then Maintain the coating with Pure Wash, and if you want that extra touch of protection, follow it up with Ceramic Spray Sealant every couple of months.

FSD

Watch for passengers sticking hands out the window during FSD 📹
In this video, we can see how the Model 3 thinks that the passenger sticking his hand out of the window is a person on the side of the road. In order to avoid what the car thinks is a person, it veers into oncoming traffic.

Cybertruck

Cybertruck went through bulletproof testing 📹
A fellow member of the Tesla Owners Silicon Valley club spotted a Cybertruck cruising with what seemed to be bullet marks on the passenger side. Later, Elon confirmed that they had emptied an entire drum magazine from a Tommy gun into the driver's door, and no bullets had penetrated the car. 🤯

Cybertruck delivery event
The Cybertruck delivery event will be held on November 30th at the Tesla Gigafactory in Austin. Will you be there?

Software Updates

Tesla's new Driver Drowsiness Warning feature counts yawns and blinks
Tesla has introduced a "Driver Drowsiness Warning" feature to assess driver fatigue by analyzing facial cues like yawning and blinking via the cabin-facing camera. The system also considers driving behavior, triggering an alert on the touchscreen and sounding an internal alarm if drowsiness indicators are detected. This feature activates when the car is driven over 40 mph without Autopilot engaged, and though it can be turned off, it reactivates with each new drive.

Charging

Tesla may soon charge congestion fees at busy Supercharger stations
Tesla's latest software update hints at a forthcoming congestion fee at busy Supercharger stations, aimed at managing increased traffic due to the North American Charging Standard's adoption by other automakers. The fee is triggered when drivers choose to charge beyond 80% at these high-usage stations. The exact fee amount is not disclosed, but it's speculated that it might follow the idle fee structure, which is charged per minute when charging above 80% and doubles if the station is fully occupied.

Incentives

Extra incentives on Model S, X, or Y with year-end purchase
If you are one of the long-time Tesla owners with unlimited Supercharging, you can now upgrade to a newer car and transfer your unlimited Supercharging to it. In my opinion, this is a great incentive for long-time owners.

ChargePoint’s EV network rolls out support for Tesla’s NACS connector
ChargePoint is rolling out support for Tesla's North American Charging Standard (NACS) connector, enabling AC and DC charging for Tesla vehicles on its network. The rollout begins immediately, with cable upgrade kits for existing DC fast chargers to be delivered in November. This initiative aligns with the broader auto industry's move toward adopting the NACS standard, making EV charging more accessible.

Model 3

Tesla Parts Catalog confirms Tesla is working on a Performance version 📷
We can see in the Parts Catalog multiple elements, like sports brakes, suspension, and new wheels. In the images, it seems to also have a Ludicrous badge, will we be seeing a Tesla Model 3 Lucidrous? In case you don't know Ludicrous is faster than light speed but slower than Plaid.

🤓 What the acronym
As a Tesla fan, I find myself sometimes having to remember what are all those acronyms, here is a list of the ones you can find in this issue.
  • FSD: Full Self-Driving
  • NACS: North American Charge Standard
