I got this text from Charlotte yesterday after the London workshop sold out so quick:

‘There was lots and lots of interest for the online date for Micro Blog System Beta. Any idea when it will happen?’

So, we are launching the online dates today.

We are doing it using a flipped learning way of sharing the system. In short, you get the keynotes before.
Then, we come together to go through the weekly challenge. Eek.
You will be teamed up in small teams beforehand. Double Eek. I count myself as an introvert, so I get this might not be easy. But you will be glad you did.

And remember, everyone who does the Beta will get the online course and the book for free when they launch.

And, yes, your name will go in the book as Beta testers.

How will ‘Micro Blog System Online Beta’ work?

We will flip the learning.

You will receive the keynote before we all meet online.

(You learn much better this way)

That gives you time to think about it. Plus, there will be a weekly challenge. (Eek)

We meet for an hour each week for 4 Wednesdays in January. (As I said, if you miss one, it will be recorded.)

January 3rd - 6-7pm GMT
January 10th - 6-7pm GMT
January 17th - 6-7pm GMT
January 24th - 6-7pm GMT

Everyone will be paired into groups of no more than 4.

Paired learning is not only how you meet other people, but it improves learning. (Inspired by how Duke did Bonfire with Soul this year.)

Why Micro Blogs Matter?

To grow your business; you need to grow your audience, to grow your audience; you need to grow attention.

- Attention comes first.

- Writing is the best way I know to earn attention.

- But an uncomfortable truth, attention goes to the most consistent.

The burning question to answer then is: how do you become the most consistent?

This is why I am launching the Micro Blog System in the Spring of 2024 as an online course.

The aim is simple:

- To make it easy to keep you writing.

- To keep you getting better.

- So, you earn attention.

But, BEFORE I launch, I will beta test it. I will run a series of workshops first to test it out, fine tune it, so I can make it more useful.

With that firmly in mind, I will go and teach it first. I have booked Cecil Sharp House in London for January 5th 2024.

I need your feedback to make it more useful. It is 95% there, but together we can push it to be the most useful micro blog course in the world. The one thing I know about The DO community, is the desire to go to the next level.

If it were a book (And it will be), this would be its table of contents.

- Why counter-intuitive thinking gets the attention.

- The 4-step writing framework that multiplies your hit rate.

- Micro-blogs make it easy to write. Success goes to the most consistent.

- Not for everyone. Be specific.

- Create a new category. Different beats better.

- 30 day writing challenge.

For example this is how to think about being counterintuitive:

If you are writing about the same stuff as everybody else, you are probably not going to win attention.

In order to get attention you have to talk about something in a new or different way. So when I started talking about morning routines, I had to say something that no one else was saying.

Adding a counterintuitive element to your writing gets attention. And that is part of your system.

Why doing a Beta test is important?

I will find out what works and what does not.

- Test in public.

- Weep in private.

Think about it: In our local town, comedians come and test their new material on a small audience in the town theatre.

They tell a joke.

They learn.

It is brutal.

And telling.

The feedback loop is at the end of the show.

The muted applause tells you loud and clear there is work to be done.

They learn from a small audience before they do the big shows.

They must get it nailed before.

I expect to do 3 Beta workshops at least. (Two in person. One online.)

I am writing a 135-page book to go along with it.

I will do this on the website Useful Books.

This is a community that will give me feedback as I am writing.

In short, I am going to spend more time on making it useful.

And then, word of mouth, will sell it after I launch.

What is a Micro Blog?

It is a short form of writing that takes less than 10 minutes to write but gives you outsize results in terms of attention.

Because you keep doing them, they build a library on your specific niche.

This compounds the attention overtime. You don’t win from one blog. You win because from all of them in your specific niche.

Why do they work?

Most people are sharing information without understanding how the brain engages.

They may write often. They get crickets often. The Micro Blog system will teach you how to add emotion and storytelling to your posts, so they switch the brain on.

3 parts of the brain that are responsible for making decisions.

Amygdala.
Hippocampus.
Prefrontal cortex.

The left side of the brain is more analytical, the right more emotional and intuitive.

Information tends to activate the left frontal lobe, which can often mean people are easily distracted.

So, while they are reading your information, tips and expertise etc, they are thinking about something else.

YOU WANT YOUR POSTS TO ACTIVATE ALL THREE PARTS OF THE BRAIN.

Hence:

Transformation > information.

New perspective > free tip.

Emotion > logic.
