1. Add an extra step to your email collection popup

What’s the tactic?

Add a step to your email popup that asks users to first choose “Yes” or “No” to claim your offer, before asking for their email address. If they tap “Yes,” bring them to the next step of the popup, where they can fill in their email. If they select “No,” close the popup.

What was the result?

Rod Lynn tested this on several clients, and every one of them saw a 25% to 35% increase in conversion rate.

2. Surprise new customers with free shipping at checkout

What’s the tactic? 

Surprise new customers with a free shipping offer only once they reach the checkout. 

What was the result?

When A/B tested by Dave Rekuc, this led to a 45% increase in conversion rate, 15% increase in revenue, and 5% increase in gross margin.

3. Move your upsell element up

What’s the tactic? 

Move your upsell component from the bottom of your product page to just under the product section.

What was the result?

This led to €255K in additional yearly revenue for Julian Samarjiev’s client.

Pavilion increased the response rate to their monthly market research survey by 52% with this tactic.

Use clear, straightforward language on your CTAs. Don’t try to be clever.

What was the result?

Allen Burt saw a 60% increase in revenue by changing a CTA from “JOIN THE TRIBE” to “SIGN UP NOW.”
