This issue: Exciting React Native Announcements

Welcome to the December issue of the React Native Newsletter!

For those who are experiencing the usual end-of-year flood of messages in your inbox, all competing for your attention, I've pared down this issue of the newsletter to some critical - and timely -  announcements of library and dependency updates that React Native developers need to know about right away.

In addition to the important announcement of the release of React Native 0.73, Infinite Red's open source React Native boilerplate Ignite has been updated to version 9. Our CTO Jamon Holmgren has created a YouTube video about it that you will definitely want to check out!

I'm also excited to announce the release of Reactotron 3, which is a wildly popular open source, free desktop app that you can use to debug issues for your React Native application. This update adds a ton of new features and enhancements that are covered in this blog post .

From me and the Infinite Red team, we send you our best wishes for a healthy and happy end of 2023.

The latest React Native release is:

Latest 0.73.0  -  Updates include:

  • Highlights:
    • Debugging Improvements
    • Stable Symlink Support in Metro
    • Kotlin Template on Android
    • Android 14 Support
    • New Architecture Updates
    • Deprecated Debugging Features
  • Breaking Changes
    • Babel Package Renames
    • Other Breaking Changes
    • React Native CLI Changes

There's a lot more to discover in today's issue. Enjoy!
