I want to start today’s post with a question for you:

For a free trial, do we think it is better to use framing (A) or framing (B) to describe the free trial length?

• A) 7-day trial B) 1-week trial

• A) 14-days trial B) 2-weeks trial

• A) 30-day trial B) 1-month trial

I would go with B because I have seen anecdotal evidence @ Duolingo suggesting using weeks is better than days.

However, I would still like to see some results from other companies before developing some conviction that framing B is generally better.

Luckily, some PM at Audible recently put “1 month” against “30 days” in a recent A/B test.

Turns out, for Audible, '1-month' won over '30-day'. Perhaps the allure of a bigger time unit (months over days) outweighs the appeal of a larger number (30 vs 1).

But hey, I'm just sharing my two cents backed by some anecdotal observations, not laying down the law.

So, feel free to mull over this nugget, or just toss it in your 'maybe later' pile!
