Final Day: What to Expect from Publish in a Day

Today is the last day to enroll in Publish in a Day! Join us this Friday, January 19, to get your idea out of your head and into the world.

When was the last time you created something amazing — in one day? 

Maybe it’s been so long you can’t remember. Maybe you’ve let last-second panic hold you back from hitting “Publish.” Maybe you're plagued by thoughts like “I’ll do it later” or “It’s not good enough.” Well, not anymore. 

Publish in a Day will spur you into action. You’ll write, edit, and ship a piece you’re proud of — all before 6 pm. And you won’t go at it alone. This workshop has the camaraderie of a Spartan Race and the creativity of an MFA seminar. You’ll have lively conversations with like-minded writers, receive feedback from trained editors, and find your flow in pockets of uninterrupted deep work. 

The goal: Get your ideas out of your head and into the world. 

How It Works

Stage 1: CrossFit for Writing (11 am – 1 pm ET)

You’ll workshop your idea and write your first draft in a live two-hour writing blitz. Say adios to your inner critic — working against the clock quiets your mind and gets your creativity flowing.

Expect an eight-step process of brainstorming, idea-mapping, and getting words on the page. During these steps, you’ll workshop your emerging idea and receive feedback from peers in breakout rooms. 

Stage 2: Write and Refine (1 pm – 5 pm ET)

During the day, you’ll revise your draft. But you won’t be alone. Jump into live, 1-on-1 feedback calls with our trained editors as needed. 

You’re welcome to write on your own, or write alongside your peers in an always-on Writing Gym. When your draft is ready, our team of trained editors will be one click away, from 2:30 pm to 5:00 pm, to help you refine your idea and revise your piece. Other team members will also be available during this time to help answer any questions and make sure you’re ready to publish.

Stage 3: Polish and Publish (5 pm – 6 pm ET)

It’s time to ship. You’ll rejoin the group for your push to the finish, making the final edits to your piece. And no last-minute panic — you’ll publish with everyone in real time, to help get you over the finish line.

Expect a short lesson, some time to re-read and revise, and one final breakout room to get you ready to hit “Publish."
