Well, more than you think.

Peter has put together 3 stealable UX tips that you can absolutely fit into your newsletter, bootstrapped product, or landing page without a huge investment.

Let’s dive in!

#1 - Low effort referral schemes

There are tools to build and ship referral schemes, but what’s easier than that?

Building nothing.

Refind incentivizes user referrals by giving coins and offering to buy them back later at a mystery value.

Importantly, when they shipped this, nothing existed. They just gave you coins and a promise.

You could run this on a newsletter manually in Google Sheets.

But this kind of variable reward can be really enticing. Something to try.

#2 - Muting specific events

Do you know what shows empathy? Giving your audience a way to opt out of specific event-based newsletters or alerts.

Zip gave people an option to opt out of Mother's and Father's Day notifications.

#3 - Make your social proof more specific

Medium will display an assortment of people (job titles and company info), on their premium sign-up prompt.

This social proof is dynamic based on the article that you're reading. 

But you don’t need to be so dynamic or clever. 

If you run a newsletter about start-ups, include details about their company. If it’s an AI newsletter, what’s their role within the company?

How could you make the people feel more specific to your niche?
