Is this the newest Amazon sales assistant? [Crew Review]

Hey Reader,

Amazon has added a new AI chatbot on its mobile app that answers questions about products. The feature pulls information from product reviews and the listings themselves.

You can ask questions like “How big is this product?” or “Will an 8-year-old be able to use this?”

The AI is intelligent enough to answer questions in Yoda’s voice and make a haiku. But while it’s a convenient and fun tool to play around with, how will this affect your Amazon listing and conversion rate?

On one hand, it will answer customers’ product-related questions and will help them make a decision more quickly. You can think of it as a free sales assistant provided by Amazon.

On the other hand, instead of scrolling through the reviews, buyers can directly ask if yours is a good product. And if there are more negative reviews than positive ones, then it’s easier for buyers to move on to a different listing.

Fortunately, the new AI search bar is located just above the reviews section, which gives buyers a chance to check out the product features and information.

Amazon Top Terms

Delve into the last two weeks and uncover the Amazon top 10 search terms that have seen a surge in popularity during the final two weeks of the year, from December 31 to January 13.

Once more, in this week's Amazon top 10, terms such as "outdoor faucet cover" and "pipe covers for winter" have claimed spots in the ranking, with a significant surge in sales by 838 units per day for the former and 520 units per day for the latter. This surge is likely linked to the chilly temperatures gripping North America.

What Is fdx?

At first glance, it looks like someone had to spell FedEx and decided they hate the letter E. Well, it’s really related to the package delivery company. It’s described as a “first-of-its-kind data-driven commerce platform,” and may prove to be a worthy Amazon competitor.

Fdx is an end-to-end e-commerce solution, which means it handles everything from delivery to returns. Through this new digital platform, customers can see their shipments in near real-time through FedEx Surround.

Fdx is expected to launch this fall.

Top 100. We’ve collected the data and rounded up the top 100 Amazon sellers in the first month of 2024.

Dethroned. Valued at $516.6 billion, Apple was declared as the most valuable brand by Brand Finance, taking the throne from Amazon.

Quiet firing. Having massive layoffs puts you on the headlines, so some companies silently sack their employees. According to Insider, this is what Amazon is doing now.
