Play to airdrop seems to be the buzzword in web3 gaming as we start off the year! Not only do we still have the ongoing playtests from Heroes of Mavia and Nifty Island, but we also have new play to airdrop events from Apeiron, a god-simulation game in development and from Nyan Heroes, a mech battler featuring cure anthropomorphic cats as the pilots!

All of these games are free to play. And while the airdrop rewards are generally larger for those who hold NFTs from the game, free to play players have a chance to earn as well!

You can also play and earn with Anichess, a chess game with magic spells! They currently have a chess puzzle mini-game available, with new puzzles daily. Players can earn and mint NFTs for completing the puzzles, and they can also earn Mocaverse Realm Points with their Moca ID.

Other recent web3 gaming news includes the official alpha launch of Champions Ascension, bringing with it the first stages of the internal game economy and Champion upgrades!

And while Gamestop may have given up on their brief foray into the world of NFT gaming markets, the demand for gaming NFTs isn’t going anywhere anytime soon!
