Gustaf's best advice for anyone starting a company

This Week at YC

January 26th, 2024

A solid number of people wrote in after I mentioned the W24 retreat last week to say they appreciated that glimpse into the YC batch experience. So I’ll sprinkle a little bit more of that into the newsletter from time to time.

This week’s happenings: Airbnb (W09!) co-founder Brian Chesky came by YC’s Mountain View office to meet the W24 founders, answer their questions, and go deep on how Airbnb came to be.

The event was off-the-record so I probably shouldn’t go and leak anything too specific, but it’s an example of one of YC’s most remarkable strengths: its community of founders. The inimitable result of people joining together to build, batch-by-batch, for decades. At any given time, you’re a hop or two away from many of the best founders in the world. People who’ve been there, who’ve done it, and who want you to succeed.

Want to be part of that? Applications for the Summer 2024 batch are open now.
