Flow State - Cassie Watson Francillon
Flow State recommends instrumental music every weekday, highlighting an artist who inspires music appreciation in this age of algorithms. If you enjoy Flow State, consider becoming a paid member – that unlocks our weekly Tuesday mixes and private Spotify playlists. Good morning. Today we’re listening to Cassie Watson Francillon, an American harpist from New Orleans. Francillon picked up the harp (figuratively) at an early age, and over time accumulated influences across classical, jazz, and celtic music.¹ This Appears to Disappear, her solo LP from summer 2021, consists entirely of instrumental harp, with enchanting runs and delicate melodies. “For best results,” the liner notes read, “consume after sunset.” We’re also playing a short live album she released in 2022 called Red, on which she’s accompanied by Wino Willy on drum machine. This Appears to Disappear - Cassie Watson Francillon (50m, no vocals) Red (Live Set) - Cassie Watson Francillon (20m, no vocals though some background chatter) Have a really nice Wednesday. 1 The artist’s website (archival version) |
