Below I reveal the 5 most interesting sites that were added to Mediavine and Raptive over the last 30 days.

But first, some background...

About a month ago today I shared a free tool I created called "Display Ad Daily".

This tool reveals sites that were just recently added to the Mediavine and Raptive Ad Networks over the last 24 hours.

Why is this interesting?

Mediavine and Raptive have significant traffic requirements (50,000 monthly sessions, and 100,000 pageviews, respectively) that need to be hit in order to be accepted onto their platforms.

So in some cases sites that have recently been added to these networks have just passed these required traffic thresholds.

Therefore, these are sites that Google is rewarding right now.

Google's search algorithm is constantly changing, so being able to analyze sites that are winning TODAY is extremely useful.

You can gain valuable insights by examining these sites - insights that just might influence your own content/SEO strategy and execution.

Going forward, once every month I will be sending a "Best of Display Ad Daily" edition.

This edition will highlight 5 of the most intersting sites added to Mediavine and Raptive over the last 30 days.

My only real criteria for picking these sites is that they are 1. "low" DR (<40) and 2. their traffic has recently exploded.

That way the sites you see are sites that truly did just recently pass the required traffic requirements - i.e. sites that just recently started "winning".

1. Eulogy Assistant

What. a. niche. This site specializes in eulogies. They offer a professional writing service - you can pay to have them write the eulogy for you. If you're not interested in paying, they have loads of content around how to write a good eulogy. It's an interesting business to be in and there will always be new customers...

2. Mother Earth Travel

This site focuses primarily on the safety of traveling to various countries around the world. Not real authors from what I can tell. Not original images. Breaks many of the "rules" Google tells you to follow, yet it is crushing!

3. Spirit Animals

• Total pages: 253 pages

Honestly this site was the most surprising. Basically they wrote a post for every single animal - "Bumble Bee Spirit Animal", "Emu Spirit Animal" and so on. Once again no real authors and not unique images. Still winning!

4. Lindsay Pleskot

• DR: 29
• Organic traffic: ~22,000 visitors
• Total pages: 292 pages

This is the first site in the batch so far that very clearly has a real person behind it who is qualified and is actually in her own content - pictures and video. There is a business aspect to her site - selling meal plans and programs. Overall this site just looks and feels far more "legit" than the previous three. Just my opinion.

5. North Carolina Travel Guides

• Total pages: 147 pages

Last but not least - North Carolina Travel Guides. Yet another example of a site Google is rewarding that does not appear to have real authors and is clearly using shutter stock images.

If nothing else, these examples should make you question what Google says publicly vs what Google actually does in terms of rewarding sites with rankings in Search.

I am not suggesting that all these sites are great, or that you should go and spin up content with fake authors (or even no authors) and use a bunch of stock images.

But I do think the lines are far blurrier than Google would have you believe. They say they want real people with real first hand experience, but time and time again they reward sites that clearly have neither.

These sites could get struck down tomorrow for all I know, but they are interesting to review none-the-less.

For now, they are winning.
