Good morning. Today we’re listening to MIZU, a cellist and electronic producer based in New York City. She trained classically at Juilliard and has collaborated with Flow State favorites Rachika Nayar and Tim Hecker among others. In her original pieces, she explores the full sonic range of the cello, using all the octaves its strings reach, targeting harmonics, and treating bow and body as a percussive pairing. To these manifold sounds she applies loops and effects and “synth ornamentation,”
