I just got back from Nashville where I spent a few days at a conference for moms who are entrepreneurs and creators. It was fascinating and also super empowering because being a mom is tough stuff. A lot of these women are raising kids and running businesses that are bringing in big money.

I met one woman who runs music classes for kids. She’s scaled her business from just herself running the classes in one state to having a bunch of people all over the place doing this underneath her brand. She went from earning $20,000 a year to $650,000 a year.

A big business here in Brooklyn are nanny agencies, like this one. Some charge a membership fee or a fee to access their database of nannies and babysitters. This is a smart and scalable business because there’s a huge need for childcare and it can be tough to find well-vetted candidates.
