If there’s one thing we’ve learned in the decade since The Intercept was founded, it’s this: When you’re taking on the biggest and most powerful interests, every dollar and every supporter count. From time to time, we hear from readers who chip in just a few bucks a month to support our work and wish they could do more. But the reality is that we simply wouldn’t be here today without those donors giving $5 and $10 a month. Over the years, we’ve faced lawsuits from billionaires who simply didn’t like our coverage. We’ve been stonewalled by government agencies that didn’t want to follow their own freedom of information laws. And we’ve reported from war zones like Gaza, where the mere act of journalism is a life-threatening event. It’s our base of monthly donors that provides the foundation of support we know we can count on, no matter what’s thrown at us. That’s why, to help keep The Intercept going strong, we’ve set a goal of signing up 3,000 new recurring monthly donors by April 30. Unfortunately, with that deadline looming, we’re still significantly short of where we need to be. If you’ve saved your payment information with ActBlue Express, your donation will go through immediately: Thank you,
The Intercept team
