Forbes - No Silver Bullets

It’s been a disappointing day for drug news. Dozens of medications are currently being tested around the world to see if they can help treat COVID-19, but so far none of them have proven helpful. Today, new research showed that HIV drug Kaletra and flu drug Arbidol have no effect on patients with the virus. A preprint of a paper was also released showing hydroxychloroquine, a potential treatment touted often by President Trump, had no benefit for coronavirus patients either (and in fact, made some of them worse). What does this mean? We can keep searching for a medication to treat coronavirus, but it is likely there won’t be a silver bullet anytime soon.
