Helping organizations accelerate software delivery

I provide consulting and training services that help organizations improve their architecture and accelerate software delivery.

I can, for example, review your microservice architecture and identify areas of improvement, or teach a workshop on how to design a microservice architecture.

I also can teach a 1 day workshop Microservices rules: what good looks like that can help you decide whether microservices are a good fit for your application.

SuccessTriangle_Fast_Flow_Small image

This week is the last opportunity to sign up for next week's workshop: architecting for fast, sustainable flow.

In this workshop you will learn about architectures that enable fast flow developing using DevOps and Team topologies. I cover both the modular monolith and microservice architecture patterns.

The workshop will be taught via Zoom 8am-11am PT, Tuesday June 11th-13th.

There's a 10% discount when buying 3 or more seats.

How do you structure your traditional (non-modular) monolith applications?

layered-monolith image

I’ve written a series of posts about modular monoliths. But I recently realized that it’s been a long time since I’ve written anything about traditional monoliths, except to say that their primary organizing principle is technical. For example, a technically layered architecture or hexagonal architecture.

One key question is how to organize the monolith’s codebase into Maven modules or Gradle projects? There are many ways to do this. In this article I describe a few options. Let me know how your monolith is structured.

Doing more with less: Part 3 - Buy don't build using Wardley Mapping

This is the third article in a series of articles that describe how engineering leaders can do more with less in the post-zero interest rate era. In this premium article, I look at how to use Wardley mapping to make build vs. buy decisions. Read more.

Discounts for my microservices data patterns bootcamp

Now is a good time to enroll your team in my distributed data patterns bootcamp.

It covers the key distributed data management patterns including Saga, API Composition, and CQRS.

The bootcamp consists of video lectures, quizzes and code walk-throughs/labs. It's self-paced and you can start at any time. There is a weekly ask-me-anything video conference repeated in multiple timezones.

Use the coupon GIVLKECM to sign up for $145 ($250 discount!!). There are bigger discounts for buying multiple seats (10+ and 20+). Bulk purchases come with the option of private, paid Q&A sessions. Valid until June 19th, 2024.
