Hey there,

Once or twice a year, we turn to our readers for ideas: How to improve this newsletter (and our other products), what they like, what they don't like, and what they want from us. If that's all you need to know, there's no need to keep reading: You can go take our survey now.

Because we are a small, independent news outlet, we have very little red tape. This means you can make suggestions in the survey that you might see get implemented in weeks (or even days). In the last few years, for instance, readers have made suggestions that led to:

  • The creation of our daily podcast
  • Bullet point summaries of what the left and right are saying
  • Reader surveys to respond to "my take"
  • Advertisements to keep most of our newsletters free
  • A Sunday newsletter with round-ups of the week's newsletters

Of course, we also send out surveys to learn more about you. That way, when other news outlets are writing about our work, or advertisers are thinking about placing an ad in our newsletter, or we want to brag about how politically diverse our audience is — we can say, "Here is what we learned from our latest survey."

It's also helpful for us to grow. For instance, if we do an annual survey and see that 20% of our readers also read another news platform, we know that seeking out readers of that platform might be a smart way for us to grow our own audience.

In short: Taking five minutes to fill out our survey helps you get a better product, helps us better understand you, and helps us get a bigger audience reading or listening to Tangle. Win-win-win.

If you have a minute, please go take it!

Happy (belated) Fourth of July, and we'll see you Monday.

Thanks,

Isaac & the Tangle team
