FSD

FSD 12.5.x to merge city and highway software stacks
Exciting news from Elon Musk as the upcoming FSD version 12.5.x release will merge the city and highway software stacks. This improvement promises a more cohesive driving experience that will likely enhance both drive continuity and overall, functionality of the FSD system.

Tesla employees test FSD 12.5 on Chuck Cook's UPL
Chuck saw a Tesla ADAS operator at his now famous UPL and thought they might be testing version 12.4.5, but Elon responded, confirming that the version being tested is 12.5. Let's hope to see that out to customers soon!

Model 3

Model 3 Long Range RWD is back
Tesla has introduced a new Model 3 Long Range Rear-Wheel-Drive with a 363-mile range, priced under $35,000 after federal tax credits. Positioned between the base model and the pricier Long Range AWD, this variant offers a top speed of 125 MPH and a 0-60 time of 4.9 seconds. It now stands as Tesla’s most affordable EV, considering the tax credits. The Longe Range RWD was a popular option in the past and I'm sure it will be one going forward.

Robotaxi

Musk confirms delay of robotaxi event
Elon Musk has announced a delay in the Robotaxi event, citing a significant design revision to the vehicle's front. This postponement will also allow Tesla to showcase additional features. The rumor says that the new target date is October.

Software Updates

Update 2024.26.1 enhances Tesla's infotainment and safety
Tesla's latest update, version 2024.26.1, enriches on-board entertainment and safety features. Highlights include a full version of 'Castle Doombad Classic' for in-car gaming, Amazon Music for Prime members, comprehensive Parental Controls, local weather conditions display, enhanced scheduling for charging and preconditioning, and sub-destination navigation. Additionally, the update delivers the full-screen Zoom meeting capability, quieter auto climate control during calls, and significant security improvements.

Upgrades

Tesla's Model Y RWD energy boost upgrade in US
Model Y RWD owners in the U.S. can now opt for Tesla's Energy Boost upgrade, increasing their driving range by up to 50 miles through a simple over-the-air software update. With prices starting at $1,000, this boost not only enhances the overall range but achieves it at a cost lower than the originally predicted $2,000.

Tesla launches new Cybertruck accessories 📷
Tesla enhances the Cybertruck's functionality with two new accessories: the tailgate shield, priced at $300, for added protection during cargo transport, and the jumpseat, originally listed at $100, a foldable seat that attaches to the tailgate. While the jumpseat is already out of stock due to high demand, the tailgate shield is available for Cybertruck owners seeking extra utility for outdoor activities and cargo hauling.

🤓 What the acronym
As a Tesla fan, I find myself sometimes having to remember what are all those acronyms, here is a list of the ones you can find in this issue.
  • ADAS: Advanced driver-assistance system
  • AWD: All-Wheel Drive
  • EV: Electric Vehicle
  • FSD: Full Self-Driving
  • RWD: Rear-Wheel Driving
