The Importance Of Setting Boundaries | How Remote Teams Can Stay Productive | 5 Ways To Make Virtual Meetings Less Chaotic

Since you’ve been working from home, it’s likely you’ve felt obligated to take at least a few calls from colleagues or customers at odd hours. After all, without evening or weekend plans, what excuse do you have to say “no”? Just because you’re homebound doesn’t mean you don’t deserve time to yourself. Take a moment and learn to set boundaries.

And remember: You can set boundaries during the workday, too. If your day is bookended with virtual meetings and you get an invite to join another during your only break, you don’t have to accept. Be professional and polite, while keeping your explanation to the point. Something as simple as “I’m trying to limit the number of meetings I take right now to focus my energy on upcoming projects—can we discuss this over email?” should do the trick.

And here’s more on everything you need to know about working from home during the coronavirus pandemic.
