If you’re forever struggling to cull down what goes into your suitcase, you’re probably a good candidate for packing cubes. Specifically, these packing cubes: They have an extra zipper in the middle that opens the cubes up like an accordion, making way for nearly double the storage space. Which allows you to reap the benefits of a streamlined suitcase—organization and fewer winkles—without having to pack less.

If you’re going to overpack, at least do it better→

Packed to the gills, tossed onto carousels, left strewn about on hotel-room floors—luggage is put through a lot. It’s going to get dirty. Just 15 minutes of maintenance between each trip can go a long way.
