A few mornings ago I was on my bicycle in the the Slovenian countryside to get my family breakfast. 

I cycle about 300 miles per month all year round. I’m pretty fit but I wasn’t going that fast. And I was on my city bike. Not my racing bike. 

After cycling for about 20 minutes I was caught up by two cyclists who staid behind me to avoid the wind resistance. 

That got me thinking. 

They’re doing 30% less work but still they’re just as fast as me. I was just taking the hit for them. 

How can I use that same analogy for growing your social media accounts?

Simple. 

Follow big accounts in your niche. 

Turn on the notification bells on a few. 

As soon as they post, get in there like a shark and post great replies. 

Not just something like “great post”

But a genuine response, adding value to the conversation. 

The faster you can come in and reply, the more likely you are to get higher up the reply rankings. 

The higher your reply ranking, the higher the impressions on your comments and the more likely you are to get a bunch of followers out of your reply. 

So, get your head down. Follow this list. Reply thoughtfully. See your audience size grow.

Nima Owji reported that 𝕏 is testing a new feature allowing you to disable links in the replies to your posts.

This could be a way to reduce spam, but also to prevent people from heading away to different websites.

YouTube is experimenting with a new Community Space feature. As part of this test, Lindsey Gamble noticed a renaming of the Community tab to Posts.

In 2020, Google announced its intention to phase out cookie tracking in an effort to address privacy concerns and give more control to web users

After various attempts (you can read more about this, here), Google has decided to implement a different approach:

"Instead of deprecating third-party cookies, we would introduce a new experience in Chrome that lets people make an informed choice that applies across their web browsing, and they’d be able to adjust that choice at any time."
