The Recommendation

August was hot. So were these picks.

A gif showing photos of some of August's most popular picks, including a speaker, a coffee maker, a pair of socks, a pen, and a backpack.

Happy September, y’all. Wirecutter readers spent last month busily prepping for fall: jotting down to-dos with our top-pick pen, brewing a whole bunch of coffee with our favorite cheap coffee makers, and zipping up new backpacks for back-to-school season. Meanwhile, some—actually, a lot—of you looked into getting some new deodorant. (No sweat. Same here.)

We’ll leave you with a peek at what your newsletter editors treated themselves to in August:

  • After talking about it for months, Haley finally got a set of these (currently on-sale!) lattice-weave bath towels. In the color denim, for those curious.
  • Brittney got this sleek hair pin, and it hasn’t left her side, or her scalp, since it arrived. She says it makes it easy to toss her hair up into French twists and messy buns, without being too loose or too tight. Goodbye, scrunchie-induced headaches.
  • Meanwhile, Isoke let her “strange obsession with office supplies” run wild with a first-time purchase of our top-pick pens. They’ve since dethroned her former favorites because they glide across pages without leaving a single smudge behind. So satisfying.

Thanks for reading.
