Our favorite fans

A selection of fans, in different shapes and sizes, that we tested to find the best.

Despite the fact that fall is just around the corner (crisper mornings ahead!), we still have a few weeks of hot weather left. A good fan can be the ideal thing to keep you comfortable through the final heat waves of the season. Plus, when cooler temps do eventually roll around, you may put your AC into hibernation—only to be hit with a surprisingly warm afternoon. A fan is a good just-in-case sidekick to break out whenever you need some refreshing air.

To find the best fans, we spent a decade testing them. And we found four favorites that are energy-efficient, wonderfully quiet, and easy to use.
