 Recruitment

The European startups layoffs project

Startups across Europe have rapidly had to cut costs — and this has, sadly, often meant putting staff on temporary leave or letting them go completely.

We've started a project to track those companies shedding staff — so far discovering nearly 60 from all different sectors.

The hope is that it'll be a useful resource for the community, but particularly for hiring managers and founders looking to scoop up talent. Maybe we can help some of these workers find new homes.

Top female investors in Spain

But who are they?

 Opinion

Let's talk about "inspirational" founders

Successful entrepreneurs are successful because they are visionaries who work 100 hour weeks. Right?

Wrong. The idea that we can succeed with nothing but our own brilliance and determination is a PR masterstroke that obscures barriers created by class, gender and race.

It's time to rethink the narrative, writes Monica Karpinski.

 Food

The startup waging war on cow farts

A Swedish startup attempting to reduce global greenhouse gas emissions by stopping cows from burping and farting has raised €500,000 to industrialise the process.

It may sound humorous, but it's a serious issue. Around 4% of global greenhouse gas emissions come from livestock, twice as much as the emissions from all air travel.
