This is the antidote to misinformation and chaos

Dear Reader,

Hello, it’s me, again!

I’m a newshound. And because of post-polio syndrome in my right leg that has limited my mobility in recent years, I have ample time to follow what is happening in the world. 

I continue to get dismayed at the talking heads. People spout. They argue. They shout. I turn on CNN. Then to balance it out, I turn on Fox. But it is the same emotions that I find – outrage, anger – and it is always aimed at “others.” There are rarely discussions about solutions.

When I turn off the TV, I find The Conversation to be the antidote to all that. Yes, my daughter runs it (and I am highly biased!), but its articles are written by true experts – academics who have studied a subject for years or even decades. Their writing is based on research and the facts they've learned. It's not opinion. They provide you with the information you need to make up your own mind about what to think about a big story in the news. And they do it without the shouting and in words that are simplified without oversimplifying.
