The very best canned cocktails

A few canned cocktails laying about along with a few filled glasses.
Marki Williams/NYT Wirecutter

The canned-cocktail industry has burgeoned in recent years from spring-break vibes to bartender-approved and mixologist-vetted creations. Many of today’s offerings are balanced, complex, and convenient enough that we wouldn’t mind sipping them in a variety of settings, from hot tubs to swanky New Year’s parties.

We tasted 40 canned cocktails and came away with a few toast-worthy favorites, including a punchy margarita, a tart whiskey sour, and an earthy negroni.
