📂 What SaaS founders can learn from Mr Beast about delegation

We all know that founders are control-freaks. It’s hard to let go and let someone take the reins. You’re scared they’re gonna do it wrong, it’s not gonna be perfect, or you’re going to have to spend so much time helping them that it won’t feel worth the effort.

We’ve all been there.

That’s why I’m excited to have my friend Kevin Galang from A Team Overseas share strategies he’s learned to get things off his plate, finding inspiration from Mr Beast of all people.

When you think of Mr. Beast, you probably picture viral YouTube videos, so what could we possibly learn from him? But there’s a surprising lesson from his approach to scaling: it’s not just about offloading tasks — it’s about teaching others to think like you.

For SaaS founders, delegation is tricky. You trust your own judgment, and passing off responsibilities feels risky if someone doesn’t approach things the way you would. But what if you could get your team to think like you? That’s exactly what Mr. Beast has done, and there’s a lot to learn from his method.

In a My First Million interview, Mr. Beast shared that his team members essentially live with him. The reason? He’s teaching them to absorb his thought process so they can produce content that feels like it came directly from him. It’s not about copying tasks — it’s about cloning his thinking.

For SaaS founders, this is huge. Imagine having someone on your team who doesn’t just take work off your plate but understands how you approach product decisions, customer issues, or marketing strategies. They’re not just completing tasks; they’re making decisions like you would.

Why thinking > doing…

When you’re doing everything yourself, growth stalls. Delegating isn’t just about handing off busywork — it’s about empowering your team to think with the same judgment and vision you have.

This is where the magic of implicit learning comes in: training your team to absorb your decision-making, not just your task list.

Some actionable takeaways:

1. Start with thought process, not tasks

When onboarding new hires, don’t just throw tasks at them. Let them shadow you in key meetings or decision-making processes. Encourage them to understand why you make certain calls. This way, they can start to predict your moves over time.

2. Share examples of your best work

Every SaaS founder has a few “greatest hits”—whether it’s a winning pitch deck or a game-changing product launch. Share these with your team, explaining the thinking behind them. It’s not just about showing off—it’s about giving them concrete examples of your standards and style.

3. Use recordings and docs

Most meetings and calls are recorded these days. Give your team access to recordings where you’ve talked through key decisions. This helps them see how you think in real time. Over time, they’ll start to adopt the same approach.

4. Encourage reflection

As your team takes on more work, have them compare their initial drafts with your final versions. Where did their thinking differ from yours? How can they close the gap next time? This reflection helps them fine-tune their instincts.

Implicit learning helps your team operate at a higher level without you constantly looking over their shoulder. Instead of just executing tasks, they’re making decisions that align with your vision. This means you can delegate with confidence, knowing your team will make calls that feel true to your approach.

For SaaS founders, this method is a game-changer. You’re not just freeing up time — you’re scaling your judgment and decision-making across the team, allowing you to focus on what really matters: growing the business.

Just like Mr. Beast built a content empire by teaching his team to think like him, you can do the same with your SaaS company. Delegation doesn’t have to mean losing control. With the right approach, you can clone your thinking and build a team that makes decisions with the same precision and vision you do.

So, the next time you’re feeling swamped, don’t just hand off tasks—hand off your thought process. Your future self will thank you.
