A round-up of the 5 most interesting sites added to Raptive and Mediavine over the last 60 days

Mediavine and Raptive added 203 new sites over last 60 days as tracked by Display Ad Daily.

As a reminder this round-up email showcases sites that just recently were added to Mediavine or Raptive.

The theme this month is data. Data driven sites are very much top of mind for me right now - I've been building one of my own for the past few months.

I think there is a huge opportunity in what I call "data wrapper" sites.

But more on that later...

1. World Population Review

"Discover population, economy, health, and more with the most comprehensive global statistics at your fingertips."

This site is basically over 30,000 pages of re-packaged data - getting over 2 million visitors a month.

Their most poplar page, average IQ by country, does over 50,000 pageviews a month alone!

In fact, they have 10 individual pages doing 20,000 pageviews a month or more (pages like "cleanest countries in the world" "largest airports in the world" "safest countries in the world" - really well diversified!

2. Bird Guides

• Total pages: 7,500

UK based "Bird Guides" has done between 20,000 and 30,000 visitors a month for over a decade.

But their main business model is a monthly subscription that gives users access to a phone app and even a monthly printed magazine.

Users can upload real time bird sightings in their area - and I guess other people are interested in this because OVER 400 bird sightings were logged yesterday alone! Wild.

Turns out people love bird watching, or "birding" as the hard core folks like to call it.

3. Great Schools

When you have nearly 150,000 posts indexed on Google, you don't need that many visitors to each page to get decent traffic.

Great Schools is a pretty fantastic resource - it breaks down every school's test scores, student demographics, teacher and staff counts and ratios to students, and maybe most interesting, it allows parents to leave reviews!

This is more or less programatic SEO at scale, with direct user input via reviews. Clearly a winning recipe.

4. Unicode Explorer

Unicode is a universal text encoding standard that assigns a unique number to every character in every language, enabling computers to represent and display text from writing systems around the world.

Before Unicode, computers struggled with multiple incompatible encoding systems, but now over 140,000 characters from 150+ writing systems can coexist in a single document, including letters, symbols, and emoji.

Unicode-Explorer is basically attempting to be a searchable database for these 140,000 characters. It's working so far!

Once again, this site is just repackaging data and presenting it in a helpful way.

TheMoveMarket homepage is the most visited page on the site - which is a pretty good sign, it means folks find it useful and keep coming back!

Before AI, I would not have been able to build this site.

Well, I guess I could have built it, but it would have taken me WAYYYYY longer.

For starters, I would have had to learn how to code (just a small hurdle 😅).

InTheTap represents yet another example of what I call a "data wrapper".

It takes publicly available data, and uses AI to organize and present it in a more digestible way.

There are loads of opportunities like this out there.

So many that I'm having a hard time even entertaining working on pure content sites at the moment. I might actually never build a content site again. Who knows.

But what I do know is that there is a short window right now of a few years where you can get a head start leveraging AI to build things that you otherwise could not have just a few months ago.
