Backstory: Grocery stores are becoming increasingly more unreliable. The last time I went, the only mushrooms in stock were $20+ per lb. The availability of organic veggies is also hit or miss. Additionally, DIY and self sufficiency is becoming more popular. There's a big opportunity to educate people on proper gardening techniques and provide an all in one solution to set them up for success.

The Idea: A complete garden in a box for your home.

Deep Dive: You would build out a complete system for customers to assemble their garden. This includes the planter style boxes, soil level, watering schedule, seeds, lights and assorted tools. You can go down many routes like wall hanging, backyard or window sill. Whichever you choose, it needs to appeal to your passions and fit in your space. Additionally you can focus on vegetables, herbs or spices.

Starting with the basics of food allows you later branch into recipes and seasonal items.

Validation: There are already a few wall hanging gardens available.

Monetization: I would sell the initial all in one box, planters, soil, tools and seeds for a fixed price. You can offer seeds, soil and nutrients on a recurring basis.

Steps to Launch: You could start with the education aspect, blogging and writing detailed articles on tips, tricks and in-depth details on how to be the best home gardener. Once you have a following, you can then try to sell your complete package.
