Smashing Magazine - Let’s Make The Best Out Of This Year.

Meet our new online workshops and SmashingConf Live with Aarron Walter, Susan Weinschenk, Yiying Lu, Umar Hansa and Vitaly Friedman. With interactive exercises and a friendly Q&A.
Brand new: online workshops on front-end and UX.

Dearest Friend,

In these strange times when everything is connected, it’s easy to feel idle, lonely and detached. Yes, everything is just a tap away, but there is always something in the way.

Skills and connections need time and space — to take root, branch and flourish. That’s exactly what we aim to create with our online conferences and online workshops.

There are always emails to reply to and urgent PRs to review. So we’ve created a friendly space for you to step away, learn and grow.

Let’s make the best out of this year — by boosting our skills together, albeit remote. At SmashingConf Live (Aug 20–21), our first fully interactive online conference, and at our next workshops on front-end & UX — with live access to experts, practical insights, and a friendly Q&A. Meow!

New Workshops on Front-End & UX

Our online workshops are packed with practical takeaways. Each class is broken into 2.5h chunks across days and weeks, so you have enough time to ask all your questions, learn, complete exercises, get feedback and address issues spot on.

Take a look at the next design & UX workshops:

And here are our next front-end workshops:

Smashing Cat hiding behind the book.

  • Workshops span multiple days, split in 2.5h-segments,
  • Enough time for live Q&A every day,
  • Collaborative notes for each session,
  • Dozens of practical examples and techniques,
  • You’ll get all workshop materials & recordings,
  • All workshops focus on front-end & UX.

Our First SmashingConf Live (Aug 20–21)

Online conferences aren’t like in-person conferences. We often think that it’s a bad thing, but it doesn’t have to be. For SmashingConf Live, our new online conference, we don’t want to replicate in-person experiences online.

Instead, we’ve designed an entirely new conference experience, focusing around interactive live sessions and discussion zones where you actively shape what happens next, and learn along the way. Jump to details or speakers.

Thank You!

We are all in this together, so let’s do our best to grow and learn together, too. We sincerely hope that the insights you’ll learn will help you boost your design and front-end skills while also building wonderful, new friends.

A sincere thank you for your kind, ongoing support, patience and generosity — for being smashing, now and ever.
