CHANGES:
I've changed the way the preview newsletter is formatted. Let me know how you feel about it!

Typeform

Typeform. Most of you in the SaaS space will have heard of them. You've probably used a typeform at least once in your life.

If not, you can try it out here.

Even on mobile, it's a crazy-good experience.

The company behind these forms started as a small company in Barcelona. In 2012, they just wanted to make a form that handled mobile better than the current options.

Now, they're a $30 million dollar company. But what's so unique about them?
  • They have a nice UI, but can't that be easily copied?
  • The starting price is very high for small companies. $35/month for some forms?
  • They don't have the best reputation for customer support.
So what's their secret driving $30 million dollars of sales per year? Here's a hint from one of their reviewers on Capterra:

"I love how the forms work for the user: they're original, nice looking and highly functional. When someone fills out your questionnaire, they see each question individually. Once they answer it, they hit "enter" and they see the next question. The forms are very nice looking, with a good color scheme and font--it's definitely eye-catching and helps the user to focus on the question on the screen. Typeform looks professional and is an excellent way to gather information from your clients or anyone else you need to survey. It's also easy to create the survey itself and equally intuitive with its drag and drop style. The one-question-at-a-time format also helps to increase the number of completed forms, as it's not overwhelming, like a page of questions might be."

Typeform's product pitch
Beyond Typeform, there are other companies in the form-game as well. RightMessage, OptinMonster, and others are ones that we'll talk about in the full version. How are they competing? What makes them stand out from Typeform, even though they don't have the beautiful UI that everyone thinks is Typeform's competitive advantage?

In the newsletter, we'll talk about:
  • How we can leverage Typeform's unique-selling point and apply it to a different part of the SaaS model
  • How to take that idea and sell it to small B2B businesses
  • The biggest risks in the opportunity space
And of course, two more ideas that are just as awesome. One's a micro-SaaS around a calendar, and the other is in the event management space.

Sound interesting? The full issue comes out at 2:00 PM EST today. If you're ready, you can sign up here and unlock the issue as it's released:
