The time, de Blasio says, will be used to increase testing capacity and give teachers more time to prepare for a hybrid in-person/online teaching model. Meanwhile, after positive results in early phase trials, AstraZeneca is beginning phase 3 trials for the Covid-19 vaccine candidate it co-developed with Oxford university. The length of the study period is expected to be about two years.
