Reader,

Last year, my wife and I took a 6-week vacation to India and Japan. I remember staying at a hotel that we’d had our eyes on for years. To be able to be there with my wife, relaxing while getting whatever treatments and food we wanted — without worrying about the cost — made me so happy. It was a Rich Life moment for me.

I live for these moments! They motivate me and tell me I’m heading in the right direction in my personal and business life.

If you pay attention, there can be so many of these moments sprinkled throughout our lives.

For example:

  • The moment you’re able to grab lunch with a friend who texts you last minute on a random Wednesday afternoon.
  • The moment when you’re able to calmly react to surprising additional costs and shrug them off.
  • The moment when you’re able to spend weeknights having dinner all together with your family — when you’ve had to work through dinnertime so many times before.

These moments are possible and are happening all the time. I’ve experienced them. My team members have experienced them. And many of our students have also experienced them.

Today, I am proud to share some of those real Rich Life moments from our students. Let these Rich Life stories serve as inspiration and a powerful reminder that we all have the power to create our own Rich Life moments — whatever that moment looks like.

The moment when Meggan happily spent $5,000+ for a once-in-a-lifetime experience in Mexico City

In August 2018, I participated in a week-long luxury immersion experience in Mexico City. It cost $5,000+ for six days. I spent a week taking one-on-one Spanish lessons, meeting influential thinkers in Mexico City, and even taking a private, after-hours tour of the National Museum of Anthropology.

But the crown jewel of the experience was when I had dinner at Pujol, the #1 restaurant in North America. The blending of cuisine, culture, and language was perfect, and I even got to meet the chef and tour the kitchen after dinner. Here is me living my Rich Life in the kitchen at Pujol.

The moment when Nagina realized she could walk with her kids to the bus every day

After working as a management consultant for years and being out of town every weekday, I didn’t get the chance to take or pick up my two young kids from their school.

As they started to get older, I wanted to have more time for them before and after school. However, my schedule required me to be out of town for most days, and when I was in town, I worked long hours. That’s when I started to build my own business.

By the time my kids started taking a school bus, I had transitioned into my own business where I could work from home. It feels like a beautiful luxury every morning when I get to take them to the bus stop, play and talk to them while they wait, give them a huge hug and kiss before they get on, and then blow them kisses as the bus takes them to school.

It’s my Rich Life moment every morning when I get the luxury to kiss my kids every morning before they get on the school bus.

The moment Vivek stood waiting for a train during his vacation...while his business continued to generate sales

A few years ago, I found myself in a situation where I had to cash out a significant portion of my 401(k) to cover unexpected circumstances. Ever since then, despite having a career that pays well, I have felt the pressure of insufficient financial security. This affected my relationship with money, as well as my psychology around it.

Launching a successful business to complement my career has allowed me to accelerate the rebuilding of my financial safety net, while simultaneously allowing me to enjoy life more. It is a collection of little things: enjoying a lavish meal without guilt, not sweating paying extra for conveniences, setting aside extra money to help my parents out — all while being on track to meeting my own long-term financial goals.

One moment that stands out is being on vacation in Scotland, at the Glenfinnan Viaduct, waiting for the Jacobite Express (the Hogwarts Express) to come steaming by. Meanwhile my business continued to operate and make sales.

It is a fantastic feeling to have built something that delivers real value to my customers, while allowing me to take the time to enjoy life a little more.
